Blues on the Willamette
Labor Day Weekend 2018
September 1 – 3
12Noon – 5PM
C’mon out to the winery and enjoy a full weekend of great wine, music, art and food in an idyllic setting on the scenic Willamette River. We’ve got camping, live music, artisan craft vendors all three days, plus a Sip & Paint Class on Saturday.
We’ll have up to 25 local artisan and craft vendors throughout the venue each day – some for just one day and others for the entire weekend.
Monday 9/3 Harvey Brindell & The Table Rockers 1 – 4 pm
Harvey Brindell & The Tablerockers, twice nominated for a Cascade Blues Association Muddy Award, is a blues outfit that fills a niche in Portland that has been largely untapped – straight Chicago Blues. One look at their schedule confirms their status as an in-demand blues band.
Harvey Brindell plays guitar and sings Chicago blues – 25+ years professional. He played guitar in the legendary Honeyboy Turner Band, nominated two years in a row for the Omaha Entertainment & Arts Award for Best Blues Band. Harvey has played at all the major blues venues in the Midwest and has opened shows for Magic Slim & The Teardrops, Shawn Holt and The Teardrops, Bernard Allison, Smokin’ Joe Kubik, Kilborn Alley Blues Band, JW Jones, Sean Chambers, Corey Stevens, Davina & The Vagabonds, Mighty Joe Young, and many more. He’s played in bands that have backed Chicago legends, Taildragger, Mary Lane and Rockin’ Johnny.
Harvey recorded two CDs with The Honeyboy Turner Band, Preachin The Blues in 1994 and Billiard Playin’ Mama in 2012. http://www.harveybrindell.com/
Ember and Vine Mobile Kitchen will be on hand all three days, bringing their wood-fired menu reflecting the diversity of the Pacific Northwest. From lamb, to pork and beef to seasonal vegetables, the region provides exceptional quality in local ingredients and the range of flavors that wood smoke can offer.
If you’re from out of town – or just want to get away from town – plan to spend the weekend camping on our grassy field behind the winery amongst the vines. Each space is just $20 for the first night and $15 for each additional night. Learn more here.
