9/01/2019 King Louie with LaRhonda Steele
Louis “King Louie” Pain, dubbed “Portland’s boss of the B-3” by The Oregonian, is a musician’s musician. When called upon, Louis is a dynamic soloist, but he specializes in the subtle art of making the musicians and vocalists he works with sound their best. For hime, the song’s the thing, not showing off. That’s why he’s always in demand with his peers, and why he is an Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee.
Portland’s first lady of the blues, LaRhonda Steele is the 2017 and 2016 Muddy Award winner for “Best Female Vocalist” presented by the Cascade Blues Association.
She began her musical journey in Jones, Oklahoma at age 13 singing her first solo in church one Sunday morning. Her journey continued to Portland, Oregon and beyond culminating into a powerful legacy of musical experiences for which she is Awed and Grateful.
This dynamic duo only formed in 2015, and their soulful, spontaneous debut CD “Rock Me Baby” has received rave reviews world wide, including being honored by Downbeat as one of the best albums of 2016, and it debuted at #8 on the Living Blues radio chart.
If you’re from out of town – or just want to get away from town – plan to spend the weekend camping on our grassy field behind the winery amongst the vines. Each space is just $20 for the first night and $15 for each additional night. Learn more here.
